Basking Ridge
Cricket Club

Where community meets cricket. Organized cricket for youth and adults in Basking Ridge, Bernards Township, and beyond.

Our story

Not our first innings

Our legacy runs through multiple cricket clubs, eventually forming an A team that has competed in various New Jersey cricket leagues for more than a decade.

Founding members of Sherdil Cricket Club and Spartans Cricket Club came together to build Basking Ridge Cricket Club, using cricket as a vehicle for physical wellness, community bonding, and cultural and social awareness.

Whether you grew up playing the game or have never held a bat, you're welcome here.

Our purpose

What we play for

Basking Ridge Cricket Club exists to organize and promote the sport of cricket among youth and adults in the Basking Ridge and Bernards Township area and beyond.

Grow the game

Promote awareness, participation, and skill development in cricket among youth and adults, regardless of experience, background, or ability to pay.

Build healthy habits

Organized instruction, practice sessions, coaching clinics, and league play that encourage fitness, teamwork, discipline, and active lifestyles.

Bring people together

Community bonding and social connection among families, youth, and adults of diverse backgrounds, through cricket activities and events.

Share the culture

Public awareness and appreciation of cricket as a sport and cultural tradition, through exhibitions, clinics, and community outreach.

Programs

Cricket for everyone

Our activities are designed to benefit the whole community, with accessible, low cost or no cost opportunities for youth and adults to stay active.

Youth programs

Cricket clinics, after school and weekend practice sessions, age appropriate league play, and skills camps. A safe, structured, and inclusive introduction to the sport, focused on sportsmanship and development, not just results.

Adult programs

Recreational and competitive leagues, practice sessions, and friendly matches. A healthy outlet for physical activity and social connection, with adult players serving as mentors and coaches for our youth programs.

Community and awareness events

Cricket demonstration days, cultural celebrations, and informational sessions that introduce the sport to residents who are new to it.

Facility and field use

We work with Bernards Township and Somerset County recreation authorities and local schools to secure practice and playing fields for all organized activities.
